I posted over here https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/1cepuhu/how_do_i_stop_these_false_security_warnings/
It was suggested I come here for answers. It's a lengthy thread, so rather than repeat the whole story, I'd appreciate if you could take a look at it, and I'd ike to continue here with a brief summary.
When I began the thread, It didn't occur to me I that not only do I have another have another mouse related problem, but that those two particular problems in general may be related as well.
That thread only covers one of the two problems I'm dealing with. When I drag n' drop any file from my "Downloads" folder, which is on an encrypted partition, to anywhere else, including one of it's sub folders, this occurs
However. if I copy 'n paste, or cut 'n paste, nothing unusual happens. If i drag 'n drop the same file back to the Downloads folder, nothing unusual happens, no warning message, but if I drag 'n drop that same file back to the desktop, the warning reappears.
It's weird. I can restore a Macrium image from a while back, and the behavior stops, but thus far, after numerous repetitions of those attempts, at some point, the behavior appears once again some time in the future.
It's really nothing more than annoyance. If I select "ok', I can continue unhindered with the chore.
That leads to the second issue, which is more annoying that the first, and also started happening some time ago, maybe around the same time frame as the first, but that's a guess.
I have problems cutting and pasting multiples at once, i.e. only one of them will be moved. No problems though if I copy/paste the same lot.
Sometimes when I try, it's as if the attempted move "refreshed" the windows file explorer. I momentarily get a black screen, and when the display comes back, all the file explorer windows have been closed, not to mention, the files were not moved, or maybe just one of them, or a couple if I lucky, but no often Sometimes the files get "stuck" for lack of a better word. A file(s) left behind is not accessible, says ir does not exist. Closing the windows or refreshing ends up with file in the intended destination, and the "ghost file" gone.
Seems like these two scenarios might be more than a coincidence?
