Have you tried Windows 11 Copilot? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/copilot-ai-features

Any comments on it? With this Copilot, do you still need to search on Google?

I am considering to have a windows machine, then.

Copilot and Edge both use Bing as a Search Engine.

No I have not tried it myself.  I use a very stripped down Win10 & 11 install.

I just read the news: MS is not going to have copilot for Windows anymore.

As I understand it Co-pilot is now an established feature particularly in connection with Edge, the MS browser. A much more challenging service MS are thinking about introducing is 'Recall'. This has been widely panned as a potential major security risk. However there is an article in 'The Register' which suggests that it could be of considerable value to SMBs (Small & Medium Businesses).. See -

Not sure that the above URL explains things too well. This one : https://www.theregister.com/2024/06/14/microsoft_recall_release_delayed/?td=rt-3a  Fri 14 Jun 2024

that seems to cover some things near real time events regarding : Recall.

EDIT : LOL I love these : https://www.theregister.com/2024/06/14/bofh_2024_episode_11/

Maybe I'm missing something, but the OP asked about Copilot, not Recall????

They are not the same thing.

And, FWIW, Copilot is (of course) already a thing.

Recall is not yet available AND its launch has been postponed due to pushback about privacy & security concerns:
https://www.techrepublic.com/article/microsoft-recall-ai-delay/
https://www.reuters.com/technology/artificial-intelligence/microsoft-delay-release-recall-ai-feature-security-concerns-2024-06-14/
https://www.ghacks.net/2024/06/14/the-end-of-windows-11s-recall-ai-feature-microsoft-postpones-launch/
https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-delays-the-launch-of-recall-for-copilot-pcs-theres-no-word-on-a-new-date/

While they are both "AI" tools, only one is available as of now.
I *think* the OP asked about Copilot, not Recall?

@redclay: to answer your specific question - try it and see.
Copilot's "value" depends on many factors.
Like any new tool, it has both fans & detractors.

Respectfully submitted

It is more that Recall is underneath, Which led to info of Recall which IMHO is dangerous to our privacy as is Co-Pilot.
