Moving files to another computer

I want to copy everything on a flash drive, and move it to a new computer.

I made a copy of my bookmarks to the desktop.

How do I move my files to the flash drive???

Just click and drag, or is it better to copy and paste????

I don't have much.

Going from an ASUS X55A laptop, win8.1, to a Dell Inspiron 3880 desktop, win10.

The Dell has never been plugged in.

Got it when my other computer (Dell desktop), was giving problems.

But with the help here, everything got fixed.

It working great...........so far.

I know it's not a great idea, but is there a way to save all my passwords and log in info to the flash drive?????

How are they saved?

It's in auto save.

How do I open it???

Auto save in this computer.

I don't know if it's part of wind 8.1 or firefox.

All I know is that when I create a log-in, it ask me if I want to save it.

I guess it's from firefox.

If wanting to actively use and protect your Passwords it would be useful to get a Password Manager : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/search/?q=password%20managers

and then work with those program extensions and their websites on how to.

As to actually using something from the desktop/USB that is not a good idea as is 1st places Malware will look.

A program protecting your passwords is the best way to go.  Backing up your Profile in Firefox and or a Extension is the way to go.

Do be aware that some big name products have had their sites hacked.  There is only one sure way of protection and that is pen and paper in a address book.

First off, Export your passwords to your flash drive.  If asked for a password you will need to enter the computer password, at least that is how it works on chrome.  

Then, the best way imo is to sign into firefox and select to Sync all your account.  This may only be a problem if you had another computer using the same email/account info, because it may sync and actually remove data.  I don't know as I don't use Firefox but for certain things.  It should ONLY Add data, but again I'm not sure. 

Make sure you skip creating an MS account on the new pc.
