Hi guys

I have windows 7 on a laptop. I usually have my email open in a regular firefox browser and everything else in a firefox incognito browser.

I need to know in the past 30 days, what days and times I have closed or opened firefox regular browser, and what days and times I have closed or opened firefox incognito browser. I am not sure if it's possible to distinguish between regular and incognito. if not, then I would settle for knowing what days and times I closed or opened any firefox browser.

in the past 30 days my laptop  froze and restarted on its own once. I also need to know what day and time that was.

I don't know anything about windows event logs but I am good at following instructions.

Hi, Welcome to BC.

I think this would be over your head : https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/devtools-user/browser_console/index.html  and not sure have the right thing myself.

If want to figure out what happen supply the info, if not keep it  and just do the MTB it should show date and time of unexpected browser shutdown, but not all and no idea if regular or private

Will also need to run asap so it does not copy over with other info.

I do know that sometimes a MTB Report will show unexpected browser shut down.  You could try it : Download Minitoolbox from the below link :
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minitoolbox/
Run the tool and only select the following tick boxes.
-List last 10 Event viewer errors
    -List installed programs
    -List devices
-List users, partition and memory size
Now click "Go" and Copy/Paste and post the output text in your next reply

Please Post a "link" of Speccy Report.
Please install Speccy Free : https://m.majorgeeks.com/files/details/speccy.html
Use Custom Install
At the Top Left Corner of Speccy --> Click File and then Click Publish Snapshot Report, a window will popup and Click YES. --> Another popup will appear and then Click "Copy To Clipboard" then Paste that "link" to your next reply in your thread.

To clarify your question:

Are you asking about times you intentionally/manually closed Firefox? Yes or No

Or

Are you asking about times Firefox unexpectedly shut down or crashed on its own? Yes or No

FWIW, Event Viewer for Windows 7:
https://www.microcenter.com/tech_center/article/4892/how-to-view-event-logs-in-windows-7

Please post the Speccy & MiniToolBox info requested

Thanks

Edited for clarity

I do not like Firefox, hate it. Had the browser for two days at the most due to an operating system problem. Firefox is said to be a safer and more secure browser than Chrome which very well may be. However there are too many hoops to jump through and the settings are layered and extensive. I prefer Google Chrome, sorry.

You can set Event Viewer to log process creations and deletions.

1. Win+R
2. Type gpedit.msc to run Local Group Policy Editor
3. Navigate Local Computer Policy \ Computer Configuration \ Windows Settings \ Security Settings \ Local Policies \ Audit Policy
4. Audit the process tracking

View them in Event Viewer.

1. Win+R
2. eventvwr
3. Windows Logs
4. Security

Thanks for that helpful tip.

Alas, we don't know if the Topic Starter's Windows 7 computer runs the HOME, PRO, ENTERPRISE or ULTIMATE edition.

The Group Policy method will not apply if it's Home Basic or Home Premium. :-(

Having said all that, the Topic Starter has not replied in over 2 months.

So, this may be a dead thread.

Thank you for your helpful suggestion.

Edited to correct typo
