A topic dedicated for who loves vintage, or retro things, even for Linux users

How to install it

Installation in Terminal

As snap package

sudo snap install cool-retro-term --classic

From source code

sudo apt-get install git build-essential qmlscene qt5-qmake qt5-default qtdeclarative5-dev qtdeclarative5-controls-plugin qtdeclarative5-qtquick2-plugin libqt5qml-graphicaleffects qtdeclarative5-dialogs-plugin qtdeclarative5-localstorage-plugin qtdeclarative5-window-plugin

Compile it :

git clone https://github.com/Swordfish90/cool-retro-term.git
cd cool-retro-term
qmake && make

Then run it :

./cool-retro-term

It can be downloaded from Ubuntu Software Center as well.

The installation commands may be different, it depends on which distro you use. For further info consider reading the install steps here.

A screenshot would have been nice..... We had a look at this in Puppy, but we just could NOT make it behave itself. A real shame, 'cos it's a neat-looking terminal; reminiscent of 80's IBM PCs.....and I, personally, am a real fan of retro-look and feel tech.

Mike.  :wink:
