Hi, I have an external HDD {WD} that used to appear as one object under "My PC", only showing two drives(D&E) when opened. Recently it has started to show the two drives as soon as it is connected to "MY PC".I cannot find any way  to revert it to showing as only one, incidentally it does not seem to affect the operation of the external HDD.

Is there any way to put the two drives back under one heading or am I stuck with this?

      Thanks

It has 2 Partitions on it.

There are folk here who will talk you through changing that to a Single Partition.

I think the behavior you're saying shows that your external HDD, which initially showed as a single device with two partitions (D: and E:), is now showing as two separate drives while connecting. I believe that it will not affect the functionality, and this doesn't impact how it works, but you might find the old setup more convenient for keeping things organized.

Go to Disk management and Change Drive Letter and Paths. Or, try grouping for file explorer.

Thanks for replies, However I have managed to consolidate the two drives(D&E) into one drive only and this is fine for myself .
