Data Recovery

My 3TB external drive became unusable. Got EaseUS Data recovery and it has been running for 2+ days. This is what it looks like now in attached file. Am I to believe that it is only 0.54% finished or are the files already discovered all that I will be able to recover?

I see no attached file. If you've been running it for 2+ days and only are at .54% I would stop the scan.

 

What is the make and model number of the drive? With the drive attached how is it listed in Disk Management?

 

Depending on how important the data is you may need to consult a professional data recovery service which is not cheap.

Sorry about that. I am not at the top of my game. Just completed radiation therapy and it has taken a toll on me. I can't figure out how to attach the file. Today it reads .71% with 10508 files lost files,

Use a image hosting service like postimages.org and upload the image. This will give you a direct URL you can put in your post.

 

Also,Being Windows 10, use the snipping tool to create an image of Disk Management showing the external drive. Type snipping in the search box.

Is this a Seagate drive? What is the make and model number?

Does not show up in disk management now. When it did it gave a drive cannot be accessed message. WD own tool does not see it.

 I'm not  familiar with Easeus Data Recovery. Can you access the Lost Files folder on your computer and see if any open?

the next step in EDR is recover files. At this point that is 71.26GB on a 3TB close to full drive. If I continue and recover that I will have to start over to see if I can recover more. That is my conundrum. What would you do?

I'm not sure I would keep scanning. It would depend on if the recovery became faster. 3TB can take a long time but I wouldn't think it would be this long. If the speed of recovery doesn't change it would finish in 3000GB/72GB x 3 days. That would be 125 days running non-stop.

 

I'm wondering how Easeus can see the drive while Disk Management does not. Sometimes you need to scroll down to see the attached drive.

 

If you open a command prompt and type

 

diskpart

list disk

 

Is the drive detected?

After seeing the issue I think consulting or taking help from the professional is the best option available instead of experimenting
