I have a Linksys EA7500 v3 router that I bought in June, 2021. From Amazon web page: Linksys EA7500-4B Max-Stream WiFi 5 Router: AC1900, Dual-Band Wireless Home Network, Gaming & Streaming, Gigabit Ethernet, MU-MIMO, 1,500 sq ft Range  --  I have a small home, under 1,300 sq ft.

Per Spectrum, my “new” Spectrum modem is giving me 500 Mbps, but I’m only getting 300 Mbps – wirelessly, when I run a speed test. I have the following hooked up via Wi-Fi: My desktop PC, Two Roko TV’s, Two Echo dots, and my printer.

Should my router be able to give that ‘500Mbps? Anyway to improve my current router to get that 500Mbps?

If I need a new router, what/where do I look in the ‘specs’ to get that better speed. Sometimes, on the ‘two’ Wi-Fi TV’s, when I turn them on, I get that ‘clockwise’ circle that you get when its ‘searching’ for a signal. I sometimes have to go through the ‘check connection’ routine before I can get them to work.

I just installed a Wi-Fi range extender, but I haven’t noticed any difference. Maybe return the Wi-Fi range extender and get a newer router?

The router does appear to be working fine.  No issues, per se, on my desktop PC outside of wanting that 'speed'.  The printer and the Echo dots seem to be working just fine, also.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi, possibly 2018, but never know you would need to go into your Router Default Web Page and check.  You can also check which Firmware it is running : https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=183933

Since you have all those things sucking off you bandwidth maybe should think of getting a faster plan and make use of it's abilities Up to 1.9 Gbps Wi-Fi speeds

2018 - So this model is 'old'.  Maybe I should consider buying a new router.

1) ? Is my current router able to give me that 500Mbps speed.  If so, then I need to figure out 'why' it isn't.

2) So, I assume, you 'know' that Spectrum is able to give out the higher speed, but I would need to 'rent' their router.

Thanks for replying

Contact the manufacturer. I'm always surprised people ask us questions here the answers to which would more easily be known by the manufacturers. Then again, last time I called Linksys support, they were pretty awful.
