Hi Everyone,

I provide tech support for some seniors and non-techie's that would like to watch online content on their tv. Wondering if there is a streaming device that I can add bookmarks to the home screen for direct access to a particular YouTube Channel, Facebook Video page, livestream link, online radio stream, etc. Some of them have limited tech abilities and navigating through apps can be a bit difficult for them. I don't mind a bit of mild back end "customizing", but prefer as close to stock as possible to avoid updates "breaking" settings.

Requirements:

As easy to switch to as possible, either automatic input switching with remote control wakeup or something with hdmi pass through.

Simple interface / large icons / least amount of distractions or extra options.

Able to change icon and/or title of bookmark.

Cheers.

m

Using a PC connected through HDMI is going to give you the easiest and most variety of customisation, using something like a firestick will seriously limit what you can do in terms of shortcuts and layout, as you are stuck with their design and method of operation.

I found this FREE launcher program that looks pretty good, I am sure if you gave it a try you could make a very user friendly interface with it:

You could let them control it using a wireless keyboard with built in trackpad:
