All of a sudden, with no apparent reason, all my photos appear smaller with a large black backround and the information, date, file number, etc., printed at the top.

How can I restore them to the original way I've been viewing them?

-Thanks

Hi, please explain where and or in what are you viewing them in that it is making them change.

If this is in File Explorer then Click on View and make changes there.  If have done so please detail what you have tried.

I did some right clicking and found "view actual size" and it worked.   Thanks for replying.

I hate when these bugs appear for no apparent reason.

There are a few possible reasons why your photos might be appearing smaller with a black background and information printed at the top. You may have changed the default settings in your photo viewer, or your photos may have been corrupted, or photos may be in a RAW format.

The first thing you can do is to reset your photo viewer to its default settings, and update your photo viewer to the latest version. You can also try to fic your corrupt photos using the photo repair software like Stellar Photo Repair or Repairit. These are some professional free photo repair software helps you fix various corrupt and damaged photos. It uses smart algorithms to repair even severely damaged videos too.
