Could I find (tried but not progressing) video editing software that works on Windows Vista, on an OLD machine?  I already know there is something comes with Windows Vista but it was a poor fail when I tried to learn it.  (I forgot what it was called and I cannot even find it on my own old Vista computer; Windows movie maker?)

The old Windows Vista laptop machine features these things:

Processor:  Intel® Core™2 CPU, 1.83 GHz
RAM:  3.00 GB
Type Of System:  32 bit o.s.

If video editing on this machine now impossible?    Or is something available which will work satisfactorily (W. Movie Maker is useless)?

Worth A Look.

IMO, the software to be used...will dictate in part what system specs work...as opposed to those which work better.  If the software is compatible (minimum requirements), then the quality of the effort ascends with better system specs.

Really Interesting Site!   So obvious but one would not tend to quickly think such a name.

There are a couple of video editors listed from the site I might try.

Also while off-topic,  there was an old zipping/archiving application seem to not be found any more but it is listed on "oldversion.com" site, and that is FilZip.  I tried it about 20 years ago and it was neat to use, almost like using WinZip.

Do be careful with what you download, scan it, maybe even send it up to VirusTotal for a scan.

Perhaps you should try a program that does not need to be downloaded to your computer? From free options I advise you to pay attention to Online Video Editor https://freevideoeditor.online/ I use it most often now, I like the fact that it does not need to be installed on the PC.

I would be cautious about that site.
The VT scan is clean, but Quttera flags it as "low risk" due to at least 1 potentially suspicious file.

So been a few weeks.  Two possible answers so far.

(1)  Do not rely on Windows Vista but go on Windows 10 and use OpenShot

(2)  There is some version of AVS4u which does work on Windows Vista, but a little more difficult to learn and use than Open Shot on W10.
