Amazon Workspace Ethernet Adapter question

Hello Everyone, noob here so please pity my poor soul. I use amazon workspace for work and found out it is a virtual desktop not a virtual machine. I found online where you can add an ethernet adapter and physically plug in an ethernet cable to your laptop on virtual machines but I cant find anything talking about doing the same thing on a virtual desktop like amazon workspaces. For example part of my job is to launch new amazon sites and when I do that the networks are not setup yet so I have to physically connect a Cat 6 cable from my laptop to a device called a PLC. I want to be able to use my Amazon Workspace programs but my physical laptop ethernet port. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Your VDI (virtual desktop) exists in the cloud, unlike a virtual machine which could exist on your laptop. So the network connections for the VDI wouldn't go through your laptop; the VDI network configuration would have to happen in the cloud. That's why you have to  use the PLC, although I've never heard of a programmable logic controller being used with a VDI before.
