I have an old ipad that I use sometimes. I have, in the past imported several photos of projects that I am working on.

But it has been awhile since I have used this ipad. And I can't seem to remember how I can delete some photos and add new ones.

Does anyone know how I can do that?

BTW where can I get a manual for the 1st generation ipad?

Managing photos on an iPad is, as far as I know, easiest achieved using iTunes software.  Plug the iPad in to the computer using the USB cable, and it's a matter of setting up a folder on your computer to contain photos you want to "sync" with your iPad.  Download and install iTunes if you haven't got it already.

Here's a demo on an older version of iTunes (the exact process might vary depending on iTunes version, but essentially it should be the same).

As for manuals, they are available here - https://support.apple.com/en_GB/manuals/ipad

This one is probably the most relevant for you (iOS 5.1 is the latest version of iOS that will install on 1st generation iPads) - https://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1632/en_US/ipad_ios5_user_guide.pdf

Okay--So I have done what you suggested. The video was helpful, however the iTunes was somewhat different looking than the video. But I was actually able to remove the photos that were on the iPad & install new photos onto the iPad. I just installed a random folder of photos just so I could see if it worked--and it did work. However, when I tried again to install the photo folders that I really wanted to install--it would not work. I was somewhat quirky. The second time that I tried to install photos I would see the folder, which had the correct name but it had the same photos as the first install.

I restarted the pc, thinking that it may work after restart---but that was not the case.

BTW I have three different pc's that I use. My main pc has a problem installing iTunes. I guess I will need to post a separate question for that????

I have tried several times to install other photos, but every time it will show the correct folder name but the photos are still the ones that I installed earlier!

I just tried to install another folder of photos and what happened was the folder that I installed was added to the folder that was on the iPad prior.

Something is really screwed up!
