Person is selling a Samsung tablet which Id like to get. But it has the label in the back Not For Sale. I didnt think much of it at first. But then did quick research and it turns out it could be a demo. Now still, these demos could be hacked. Maybe he did, maybe he didnt. Is it okay to buy or I have to abort?

It might be stolen from his job or from another large institution. NOT FOR SALE usually mean NOT FOR SALE.

If you saw this computer at the seller's home or business....not just a pic in an ad....what did the seller

have to say about the label? Meaning....how did he acquire the computer. One other thing to be wary of

as I was reminded today....it is possible the computer could have a hardware lock which can't be removed

except by doing some hardware surgery. If the computer can be tested by you before purchase...do that.

Demo Models, from Stores, usually have restrictions on them, parts removed, or disabled.

 

I would suggest that, unless you are more that competant with this piece of equipment, you don't touch it

Okay thank you guys.

He says everything is fine. But I havent asked him specifically about that label.

The tablet is going to cost about $140.

Its by far the cheapest around and Im kinda desperate.
If I get another confirmation Ill reject it.

If it is 'by far the cheapest around' that is another indicator that it might not be an entirely honest deal. I have no idea what is the going price for a tablet like this in your area but put it this way - $10 - 15 cheaper. OK, $50+ cheaper, getting doubtful.

There are various other option available in the market, just abort if you are planning to buy that laptop.
