apple ID dilemma

First of all, I do not own any apple devices. My significant other however does and my question is aiming to help her.

 

Several years ago our internet provider went out of business. Our associated email address went with it and we were advised to clear out important emails because soon the provider would not exist anymore. That all happened.

 

A unforeseen issue came about because of this. 

 

Because of Apple's methods of doing things, they require you to log in to "apple" to change things. Of course they have you login to your account and enter password. The trouble is, they use the non-existent email address to verify information even when we've changed it many times! 

 

Of course we have called support many times. We even had tech support update the email address to the current address.. We've told them over and over, the "old" address is no longer valid. "Oh, we will change it".........never happens. And the delays! Ask a question and get your answer 2 days later? How is this helpful?

 

So, photos need to be removed to cloud and of course Apple suggest logging in to the old address...again!! So the question is this: Does anyone know how to get rid of old login info with Apple so that this doesn't continue being an issue? Asking them for help is frustrating.

Can you log in to the Apple account using the old or new email address? Usually you’d receive an iCloud email account which you may be able to use to log in.

Have you signed out of the iDevice & tried signing in with the new email?

Do you have 2-step authentication set up?

Have you changed the email address for iCloud & the other Apple software?

Have you also updated the notification email within the account?

Yes, I  have logged into apple with her address and phone number but only on her phone (2 step). When I go to make changes to the email address, apple tells me to go to the OLD address to make changes and this is my problem - so it's a merry-go-round.

I've changed address and had apple confirm my new identity "email address". Like I explained, I thought all was good. Then when I want to do something that requires verifying my ID, apple goes back and digs up this old address. I am sooooooooooo sick of apple and this bs. 

And yes, apple will correspond with me at my current address and then, like I said, it eventually reverts back to the old address.

 

The phone is so cluttered with unnecessary stuff but mostly I want my photos (which of course needs a email and password that I don't use anymore).

Getting someone at apple to provide immediate solutions is near impossible because of this old address.

Can you log in using your iCloud email address?

When changing email address you need to sign in with the old account then change the address there. Did you do this or is security preventing you?

I'm sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you're having with Apple's login and verification process. One possible solution you can try is to reset your Apple ID password. Here are the steps you can follow:
  1. Go to the Apple ID account page at https://appleid.apple.com/
  2. Click on "Forgot Apple ID or password?"
  3. Enter your current Apple ID (which may be the old email address) and click "Continue"
  4. Select the option to reset your password, then choose to receive an email or answer security questions to verify your identity.
  5. Follow the instructions to reset your password.
  6. By resetting your password, you should be able to create a new login and password that is not associated with the old email address. Additionally, you may want to consider setting up two-factor authentication for your Apple ID for added security.
If these steps do not work or if you continue to experience difficulties, you may want to contact Apple Support directly for assistance. They should be able to help you resolve any lingering issues with your Apple ID and login information.

You can even try a third-party software to remove Apple ID like Stellar Toolkit for iPhone. But, eventually you'll either need the password for the Passcode if there is any, or the password of the Apple ID linked to that iPad. I just hope that you crack it anyhow and get your iPads in the working state.
