How can I find out if I have a Surface Book 1 or 2?

I bought it about 2 years ago. I guess I didn't write down the model number as I can't find it. I went to Settings & System. I can find out the CPU (i7-6600U), the RAM (16 GB), and the disk size (1 TB), but I can't find the model.

I can also find the Device ID and Product ID, but they are too long to type. (Why the h*ll do the arrogant a-holes at M$FT make the data in those fields protected so I can't copy and paste?)

Thanks

I think I found the answer. Press the Windows key, then type "system information". In the dialog that comes up, look under "System Model", about the 7th item.

Mine simply says "Surface Book". No number. So I assume that it's a Surface Book 1. They must not have anticipated that they might have a later model at some point.

Is that correct? Can someone with a later model report what it says for them?

Thanks

Did a bit of searching and here is one result....How can I tell what model Surface Pro I have? - Tobii Dynavox

Here is an image showing timeline for release of Surface products found on Wikipedia:

That's interesting. I think I bought it in 2018, so that would probably make it a Surface Book 2.

Did you enter your 12 digit serial number at  Surface Support for Business Online Service Center - Welcome

That would be the thing to do to be sure of what you have.

Another way would be.....if you bought from an online store and it keeps a record of your purchases....you can

confirm what you have by checking your purchase.
