Hi, I want to make a gift to my husband. He is a lover of fishing, and I overheard how he talked with friends about the fish finder.

Tell me, what is the best price you can pick up, the budget is $ 500.

Thank!

I have a very simple hikers GPS from Garmin called a Geko.  It doesn't use any maps or need them as most hiking (lakes too) have no road maps.  It will allow you to return to the same location and also give you the coordinates.  That unit not available anymore, but many others will work, and usually less than $200.

r.a.d., Thanks!

Choose the one in your ranking on the site that you advised in the first place - Raymarine Dragonfly 7 Pro.

It is also on the same website, the same is in the first place https://outdoorsly.org/best-fish-finder-under-500/

I Think I decided.

Michelle2019, great!

When your husband brings home the catch of the day, you've got a bargaining chip- you helped him find it, he can cook it.

I guess I didn't consider having the two functions in one device.  Most newer boats have some on-board navigation system, some I saw at a boat show were built into the radio.  The little Geko is smaller than the smallest phone and was on sale at Christmas of 2015 for $50.  I bought two, for use on my speed boat that has no speedometer and some places in the bay have limits but mostly to retrace my path when running through the myriad of islands of the San Fran Bay delta, need to keep in fresh water, the jet pump hates salt water.  Accurate to 18 feet when linked to four down streams.  Really handy for Geo-cache events, locating treasures at specific co-ordinates.

You can't go wrong with the Garmin Striker. It's cheap and has all the features you could want. You can read some more about it.
