Hi,
I've read the mini tutorial a couple of times, and I feel that I understand how to use Autoruns with the database. There are a number of entries that I've found on my system that I cannot find in the database. Most of those entries have a .dll file extension in the filename. Does the database have .dll entries or are all of the filename entries .exe? Here are some examples of what wasn't found.
Name Filename
vidc.cvid iccvid.dll
stexstor stexstor.sys
Mp3tagShell mp3tagshell64.dll
After not finding these startups I decided to look at some that I thought would be common and required to exist.
Name Filename
FlipShare Service flipshareservice.exe
NIS nis.exe
The FlipShare startup was found in the database, but the NIS startup for Norton Internet Security was not. Startups with nis.exe as part of the name were found(Acronis.exe and winis.exe were displayed), but I would have expected Norton Internet Security to be in the database. Are startups that may be obviously required not included in the database?
I search the database by clicking on Advanced Search in the Search for Startup box. In Advanced Search I only enter the Filename. Are the entries I'm not finding exceptions to the database? Am I doing something incorrect in my searches? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Gary
