Forwarding an Email

Guide Overview

The purpose of this guide is to teach you how to forward an email you received in your inbox. Examples are given using Mozilla Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook Express and the webmail service MSN Hotmail.


Instructions

• Open your email program at the inbox.
  
• Select the email you wish to forward. Highlight it in Thunderbird and Outlook Express, Open the email in Hotmail. Here's what that looks like:
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Click the Forward icon on the mail toolbar.
  A new window will open that looks very similar to the 'Write'; 'Create Mail'; or 'New' window except some fields will be automatically filled in and the original message will appear either in the body text or as an attachment. Now your view will look like one of these:
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Enter the recipient's email address in the 'To:' box. (item in the screenshots).
  
  
• Type any explanatory message in the text field. (item in the screenshots).
  
  
• Click the Send icon in the mail toolbar. (item in the screenshots).

A copy of the email you selected will now be forwarded to the person whose address you entered in the "To:" box. You may notice, in your inbox, the icon for the email has now changed to indicate it has been forwarded.

I forward e-mail frequently. The friend who sends it to me in the first place always insists that I delete his name and address first, which I think is a good idea, otherwise we end up eith a trail a mile long.

Passing on some additional information on this good post, and it's HOW TO REMOVE PREVIOUS NAMES OR ADDRESSES
BEFORE FORWARDING E-MAIL.

STEPS:
1/ After clicking forward (Name not filled in yet or subject) "Hold down left mouse button at the start of the names/addresses you would like to delete of that long trail, drag to bottom right of the names to be deleted, then release
the mouse buitton."

2. With the text part you want to remove highlighted (selected) hit the "Delete" key or click the "Cut" icon (scissors).

3. Input your own message,picture etc.

4. Use the above method to clean up the "Subject box of unwanted FW, re [ ],etc, or change the subject to anything you would like.

5. Check over the mail.

6. ADDRESS AND SEND. (ALSO) YOU CAN HOLD DOWN THE CTRL KEY WHILE DRAGGING DOWN TO HIGHLIGHT

UNTIL YOU CATCH ON, SELECT SMALL CHUNKS TO DELETE AS THERE IS LESS
OF MAKING AN ERROR.
> Note: If you happen to delete more that you intended, don't panic. Before doing
anything else, go to the menu line at the top and click <Edit> choose <Undo>
(On Windows, you can press CTRL+Z you are one step back.

Is there an easy way to forward to multiple contacts in your address book? I'm hoping there is a way similar to what's available for sending to multiple addresses.

i don't see an example of Outlook the Office Tool for E-Mail.
