How To Disable Windows Messenger



Guide Overview

This will describe how to stop Windows Messenger from loading when Windows starts up.

Instructions

1) Start Windows Messenger.

2) From the toolbar go to Tools>Preferences

3) There are a series of check boxes. Remove the check from the top two.

a) (Uncheck)Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts
b) (uncheck)Allow Windows Messenger to run in the background

4) Exit Windows Messenger.

NOTE: You will still be able to start Mssenger manually.

To completely remove it you can goto start then control panel then add remove programs then add remove windows components then uncheck windwos messenger. Click next and reboot
