I recently received an email supposed to be from Chase Bank claiming my 'supposed' account was detected with irregular activity and need to verify by downloading a file.

A. I,nor my work, have no association with that bank.

B. No, I didn't click on that link. I am not a noob haha

Following is the message of the email I received

We detected irregular activity on your Chase Card on 08/11/2017. For your protection, you must verify this activity before you can continue using your card. Please download the file attached to this email, fill out the information required to review your account and press continue. We will review the activity on your account with you and upon verification, we will remove any restrictions placed on your account. Want to get more alerts? Sign in to your online banking account at Chase Bank and within the Accounts Overview page select the "Message Alerts" tab. Because email is not a secure form of communication, this email box is not equipped to handle replies. If you have any questions about this message, please log on to Chase.com or call 1-877-CHASEPC (1-877-242-7362).

2 characteristics of this email

1. There are no sender I can identify. (Sender section is completely empty)

2. Attached file is an .html file. Which i believe it is direct link to download execution file of the ransom-ware.
