Can anyone recommend anything suitable?
Thanks.

What you are asking about is ripping CDs. Do a search for 'CD rippers' and take your choice, many will allow you to save audio files in a number of the standard formats. My own preference is for 'Fairstars'.
But do be are that there are copyright implications in this. While in many jurisdictions you are allowed to make one copy for personal use or as a back up, not all do. And you are not allowed to sell such copies.

Windows 10 - use Windows Media Player
>Open WMP / Organize / Options
>Choose Rip Music tab
>Choose where to save ripped file
>Choose Format (usually MP3 or MP4)
>Enable "Rip CD automatically"
>OK
>Choose "Rip CD" at top menu
>hope for the best.
WMP will automatically convert to .cda format; it will auto-convert from other file formats when doing the burn process.
>>The converted/copied files will be auto-saved to the WPM Library as follows:
* Open Explore, look for This PC / Music
*Look through all the folders there, probably will be something like "Unknown Album" or some such. Click on it, the ripped files will be in there.

Just to round out this topic files with the extension .CDA are a type of catalogue file which is the pointer to where the track is on the CD and they are about 1.5KB in size, they are definitely not audio files. Music and other audio files on a CD run at about 10MB per minute of audio, so the 6 1/2 minute long song I am listening to at the moment takes up about 65MB. (The Dubliners, 'The Town I loved so well' if anybody is interested)
