Brainout,

I didnt get any of that, I got a circle and three operations underneath. As  it was downloading it would say 44%complete and so on, it didnt ask anything about files

Or was it because they were using that program?

  • Did the upgrade went well? Yes
  • Were you missing anything after the upgrade? No Just have to let it catch up
  • Was there a last minute issue you had to fix before upgrading? No
  • Did you need to disable/uninstall a program (like an Antivirus) before upgrading? No
  • Did you have to update drivers after the upgrade? No
  • If you have a tablet with limited disk space, how did you go throught the upgrade process? No
  • Etc.

  • If you try to force the update and complete the update You don't have a key in your email or Window Store right away.

Did the upgrade went well?
The upgrade went according to plan. No issues during install. However the system has blocked almost all attempts to access anything the way I use to such as I cannot right click and use personalize,display options, or use settings yet by clicking the button for it anywhere except via right click then control panel.
Were you missing anything after the upgrade?
Most of my files went to onedrive before the upgrade. I noticed these take time to download after.
Was there a last minute issue you had to fix before upgrading?
No issues that I had to fix before the upgrade.
Did you need to disable/uninstall a program (like an Antivirus) before upgrading?
Nope
Did you have to update drivers after the upgrade?
nope.

Current version of Windows you are upgrading from;
8.1 home edition
Version of Windows 10 you end up with;
10 home edition
Computer brand and model (even the specs if you need, mostly the CPU since there's prerequisites);
Lenovo h515, 4gb ram and amd cpu.
Special system tweaks which you think could affect the upgrade process;
Nothing that I can see as of yet.
Special combinaison of software which you think could affect the upgrade process;
I havent had any issues with software affecting the upgrade.

I  was really hoping, they would have put the "Copy to" or "Send to" back the way it was

You used to be able to right click on a folder to copy or move it, or you could do it from the left side drop down

As with 8.1, you now have to find the "Home" button to move or copy a file or folder

I will never understand why they did that?

My desktop computer is still stuck on the black "Windows Upgrade" screen with the circle stuck at 26%. Sigh. Time to start troubleshooting.

I don't know, Norseman.  This whole thing baffles me.  Most of us here are having good download experiences, but most of them seem not to.  Why?

Or was it because they were using that program?

My computer was stuck at 24% for a while (not over an hour though). Just wait it out. :)

Yeah I'll leave it overnight and see how it goes. Even thought I left it for over 2 hours the first time. Oh well

Is this an upgrade or fresh install?
