Wow, 1.8m PPD!
That's a lot of points, I don't believe my combined 8GB GTX 1070 FTW, 6GB GTX 1060 FTW & SSC could produce that many!
As much as I'd love to have a 1080/1080 Ti, GPU pricing is way too high at the present time, my GTX 1070 cost just over $429 when purchased. Regret not going for a GTX 1080 when moving for $500, which lasted less than a week. By the time I scraped up the $500, the 1080 was over $1,000 & as far as that goes, the 1070 wasn't far behind.
Oh well, it is what it is & nothing we can do.
Glad to see you here, was wondering who was the one at the top of the list, while it's unlikely I'll ever catch up to you (way too far behind, even if I have a GTX 1080 Ti in all three rigs ), yet good to see you here!
I believe in what folding@home stands for, while not every project results in a cure, these still leads to deeper understanding of how diseases works & can later ship work units that may lead to a potential cure. There's no way that Stanford University could buy enough land, employ needed staff and still provide quality health care to it's patients w/out us helping by donating unused CPU cycles. Most of us when not using heavy applications can fold & still get our work done.
As for my rig, have to get the heat down a bit, this may help prevent crashes. Using Google Chrome (for me) while folding, even though have 32GB of DDR3-2400 XMP RAM, causes the system to BSOD. So had to use another PC while reaching the 5 Million mark. Hopefully can get the issue sorted out, have some parts coming in this week, then try again. Maybe I'll need to use another browser, it was during checks on points with Chrome when the last two BSOD's (memory management) took place. If needed, can always change to Firefox or another browser, as long as it's not Microsoft Edge.
See you later. keep pushing for the cure!
