My point is this, Dan; that unlike the majority of Windows users, as Linux users we're not afraid to experiment and find ways of doing things that actually work. Sure, my way is perhaps a slightly "kludgy" workaround.....but I get the end result I'm after. It's only BC's IPBoard software that ever gives me any kind of issue.......for any other "brand" of forum software I've ever encountered, the various links supplied by PostImages work exactly as expected.

For me postimages is more cumbersome especially when clicking on images cause then you have to zome in to see them especially on a phone. On a phone you see the full image embedded in a post via the options I showed above. If a site doesn't offer full image posting in bbcode it's not worth it to being used and being online. I hate and loath imgur for that.

To create a big image in a post:

  1. Upload the Image: Use the upload button to add your image to the post.
  2. Adjust Image Size: Once uploaded, click on the image and use the resizing handles to make it larger.
  3. Use HTML/CSS: For more control, use HTML to set the image size with the width and height attributes, or apply CSS styles for responsiveness.
  4. Select Appropriate Image Size: Choose the highest resolution image available to ensure it displays well when enlarged.

Ensure the image quality remains high when resized to keep it visually appealing.

These are my potted instructions for adding images and other files to posts on BC -

For information - how to add an image or other file to a post

First of all create your image/file and save it somewhere where you can find it, then start a new post.

In the bottom of the new post text box you will see , at the bottom right, 'More reply options'. When you are ready to add your image click on this and you get a drop-down extension to the 'new post' box., it says 'Attach files'.

Click on 'Browse', find your file - an image or any other - and select it and click 'Open'. You will see that the file is now listed.

Next, click 'Attach this file' and the view changes to having a blue/gray band with a thumbnail of the image and its name. At the right hand end of this band you will see 'Add to post/Cancel. Select 'Add to post' and that's it.

Only one small note of caution - it will insert wherever the insertion point is in your post, so make sure the insertion point is where you want it.

As has been mentioned elsewhere in this topic every member has a maximum upload ability of approximately 5MB. This is a total upload capacity and if your next intended attachment takes you over this then you need to delete earlier images to free up the needed capacity. Hughes2001 is making the process seem much more complicated than it is.
