Is anyone know what happened with VirusTotal?
Now when I try to check an URL then it swap to an ADD page to I have to login to virus total directly or trough other platform (like Google, Twitter, Microsoft) also it advertising new functions like adds.
This only happen with URL search. The virus upload function work as intended.

This is a really old thread....
Be that as it may, I'm not seeing what you see.

The site displays and works as expected, with no login requirements or advertising (in Firefox on an Android 14 mobile device)

Perhaps you are on a "fake" or spoof site?

I know it is an old thread, but as it pinned I dont wanted to start another thread about same theme.

I used my bookmark to VirusTotal, if my browser not seriously infected (I doubt) then I might be on right site.

Thanks for checking VirusTotal, this is realy strange. It advertising that I can check phising emails with rightclick on them and it directly scan by virustotal, without of need to copy URL, a QoL feature.

Some Update: Im not sure, but it seems probably Ghostery screwed things with its Never-Consent feature. Because with some test on VirusTotal buttons it seems I got directed to "Sign In" section from URL search instantly. I never signed up there so never seen it before to recognise.

I disabled Ghostery.

Yes, browser extensions commonly cause anomalous behavior (& slowness), especially excessive numbers of overlapping privacy & security extensions.
Overly strict security settings within Firefox itself can also break some websites.

Handy troubleshooting suggestions:

Yeah, Ghostery overlapped with uBlock Origin. While this Never-Consent seemed a nice addition feature it not worked always and as I expected, also seems it caused issue.

Thanks for Troubleshoot link MoxieMomma. I will take a look.

@Erunosta:

The matter at hand your reported is really about browser extensions breaking websites, not about Virustotal per se.

As such, to avoid drifting off-topic, I respectfully suggest that further discussion about this and related web-browsing issues will be better suited for the Web Browsing forum section.

Respectfully submitted

Okay, but the issue looked like was VirusTotal. I didnt foreseen it is an extension issue. You also talked about browser extensions. I understand here is rules and be better to avoid confusion, but we should not be so strict with it. I added the info what was the cause and it fixed. There is no point to continue this on an another forum. Also Im not planned to continue it here either.
