The suggested uninstalls is to fix error issues you are having that is Reported by the MTB report.

These 2 are pretty significant as the RyzanMaster is the Chipset and Driver for your Chip.   It is reporting a Missing File.  It is possible that while it is figuring that out that Firefox goes down as your 8gig of ram does not allow errors and programs to happen as not much left of it.

Faulting package full name: Microsoft.Windows.Search  Hang type: Quiesce

&

Microsoft-Windows-RestartManager    Microsoft Office SDX Helper' could not be shut down.

&

@ the time of the Speccy Report you had this : Memory Usage: 78 %    Total Physical:   5.88 GB (WHY is it Reporting this as you have 8gig, so where is it going ?)(On-board Video ??)

Available Physical: 1.26 GB
Total Virtual:  20 GB
Available Virtual: 6.73 GB

If wanting to skip all then do so and backup your FF Profile : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

then

Refresh : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

I have a few other tabs open so that may be why it's reading what it is. As far as the other things I'll look into it and considering trying the things you suggested. It's not to the point of a concern, just a bit of an annoyance. Thanks for the help!

Suggest not run the Ryzen Master is it is for Overclocking on the fly.

Though if going to then have it bring in a new one and for on-board video : https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html

I don't know enough to do anything with overclocking so that's the last thing I'm concerned about. :)

Still bring in a new one as it is Chipset Drivers as well as on-board Video  : https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html

Possibly need to be updated.

As well modern laptops use the on-board then switch to the larger Video card and asl they can run at the same time.  So having it update the On-board as usually forgotten item.

Let s know how the FF Refresh works out.

This feels like a simple question and yet i must be missing something. I went to update the BIOS. Picked the file. Install the file. Reboot. Go back to look at other things I might update and the BIOS update I THOUGHT I just updated is still listed as an update...???

Hi, @mrk2474:

Wow. 3 pages & 37 posts....
Are you still experiencing the FIREFOX VIDEO issue?

If so, this is offered "as is", in addition to the excellent advice already provided.
Feel free to take it or leave it.
(And this is not intended to denigrate the previous, sound advice about updating BIOS, drivers, etc.)

I agree with the others that Firefox extensions and/or security applications (in this case, Trend Micro) are the most likely factors causing the behavior you report.

However, a lot of well-meaning suggestions offered thus far appear to be out of sequence, and/or perhaps minimally, directly relevant to the problem at hand.

Here's how I (just a lowly home user) would approach what *appears to be* a Firefox-specific issue (since you report that video plays fine in Edge):

First, I would backup AT LEAST my bookmarks (and/or my entire profile of “user data”), just in case:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Then, I would follow **IN ORDER** each of the troubleshooting steps listed here. It is important to follow the sequence in order. (NOTE: this article includes links to standard steps, a few of which may have already been suggested, such as Troubleshoot Mode, Clearing Cache, Refresh, Reinstall, etc.):

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems

For the reported video playback issues, one *could* further drill down to THIS list, following the steps in order:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues

If the problem persists after ALL of this, then that suggests the problem may be more complicated OR not specifically caused by Firefox itself. Potential diagnostic steps might include other, stepwise procedures, such as:

First, a **reversible** Windows “clean boot” to help exclude a software conflict. Note: one may need to take additional steps to temporarily disable one's security suite from starting with Windows, e.g. by disabling this feature from the security suite’s GUI:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd#ID0EBBD=Windows_10

Next: **At least temporarily** cleanly uninstalling the security suite (Trend Micro) would be the next step. As pointed out, if you have a proper, legal license & follow correct uninstall procedures, you won't lose your license/subscription. But you've already told us you won't try this important step.

Another longshot suggestion: creating a new Windows user account with administrator privileges, for testing purposes:

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5440-add-local-account-microsoft-account-windows-10-a.html

If the problem does not occur in the new profile, then your Windows user account may be corrupted.

>>> As already suggested, I would also ensure that one's video drivers are updated - in your case from ACER or NVIDIA (NOT via Windows Update).

Otherwise, I notice that you only have 6 GB (or is it 8 GB?) RAM, but that ought to be sufficient, especially if the videos play OK in another browser.

Just my tuppence and worth less

Ok :thumbup2:

Honestly I think just that just might have fixed it. My other issue is the BIOS. As I said above, I updated it and I swear I actually already did that before but anyway it still shows in the update list.

Hi, not sure where you are seeing that ?

Try again but using the HP Update program to do it.

Note sure how the BIOS is to be installed.  Suggest download manual and fallow the instructions.  If you installed the wrong Bios then may not get it working with the correct one.

(last person in the world to ask about a HP or Dell or as would never own a branded system.)

Does it show the updated version # in BIOS ?        If so then is ok unless wrong Bios.

Think that maybe that is the way to identify and maybe ignore the list you speak of.

Do not think much else can do other than the attempted reinstall and then forget about it.

Not sure what to say but I did download the file from HP and installed it from that file and yet as you see it still shows up as if I didn't use it. At least I assume that's what it means. I'll have to double check the version number tomorrow

Yes check in Bios to see.

If you have any security software running disable it before updating.  Do not run any software while doing this.  Turn off in Task manager if have to.

Download MS Autoruns and stop them at boot to get this done.

May have to try in safe mode though generally that does not work for programs but a Bios update is not everyday software.
