To prevent this, Windows-users can configure the Windows Defender Application Control policies to control what NVIDIA drivers can be loaded.

Like any other software, things produced by NVIDIA are in a continual process of development. In 2020, NVIDIA released a security update for the GeForce Now cloud gaming Windows app. This fixed a high-severity vulnerability that could otherwise allow local attackers to elevate their privileges or execute code after successful exploitation.

In 2021, the company released a security advisory detailing which of its enterprise applications were affected by the Log4Shell vulnerability and needed to be updated.
