Random BSODs out of the blue

CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (most recent)

I have been getting random BSODs lately - typically around midnight around the same time that google, microsoft edge, and AMD update tasks take place (as seen in my task scheduler).

The last BSOD was in the middle of the day.
I have monitored my system's temps. Nothing out of the norm.

I have ran malwarebytes and avira scans. Avira found nothing. Malwarebytes flagged an old zip file that I've had on my computer for years now, which was a game trainer for a single player game. I'm sure that is a false positive, but I had it quarantined anyways. Back in late 2023, malwarebytes quarantined some RESTORO registry keys as well. I've had BSODs after those registry keys were quarantined though. 

Nothing else has shown up on my scans.

Windows is up-to-date according to windows update.

Dell support assist does not identify any need for software updates or issues with hardware (though this probably doesn't help that much, as I don't have much trust in this application)

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.   Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.
 
Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy,  taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

   Go to  website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from ccleanercom (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

    After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.
 
     Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):
 


     Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

     Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the ADD REPLY or REPLY TO THIS TOPIC button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Post below the Reply box.

There is only one Dump File in the Collection.  If you are running something that cleans up then stop.  Nothing is certain with one dump file.

Stop using this : CCleaner use MS Disk Cleanup on the Start Menu since 1995.  Run once then again and click the button to Cleanup System Files.

Multiple instances of : DDVDataCollector.exe  ==   DDVDataCollector.Service.dll   This is part of Dell, it as it's name suggests collects data.  Difficult to remove and seems a problem. Some call it a Virus.

Dump File

SYMBOL_NAME:  nt!PspCatchCriticalBreak+10e
IMAGE_NAME:  ntkrnlmp.exe

So above is ntkrnlmp.exe is an executable file associated with Windows Operating System. When Windows OS starts running in your computer, the programs that contain ntkrnlmp.exe will be executed and loaded into RAM and runs there as a NT Kernel & System process.
 

Since Ram was to be tested before posting here I would assume it checked out ??

1st = get rid of the Dell Collector thing.  DDVDataCollector.exe  ==   DDVDataCollector.Service.dll

2nd = Start a New Profile.  If that fixes the issue great

3rd = Repair/Install/Upgrade and see if that fixes the issues you have.

Note : the info is gleaned straight from the info collected and your Dump File.  The Stack has not been read.

The BSOD Kernel Expert is off for awhile and no one else can read the Stacks.

I have provided info that is safe to do and no info will be lost.  This is best course of action to start with,    Let us know how your making out.  

Note : I have not looked at the MTB Report as of yet but it seems the Dump File has provided a wealth of nfo to your issue.

I will look at it later,  Am on a laptop and MTB reports drive me crazy on here.  I do think regardless of the MTB Report should follow the Steps Posted.

I am not aware of running anything that 'cleans up', at least not at the time I ran SysnativeFileCollection. There were a couple times where the app said a report took long so it skipped (such as the services report and tracert report)

Complete. I'll use MS Disk cleanup instead of CCleaner from now on.

I'm not sure what test this is. Are you referring to step #5 for memory and HD diagnostics within the posting instructions?

1. complete. I removed other .exe's within the C:\Program Files\Dell\DellDataVault location as well.

2. complete. I'll try out this local user profile and see how things pan out before trying step 3.

Hi, CCleaner cleans up and will delete Dump Files.    Good to hear.

You can use Mentest86 free version and run 2 irritations think is 7 passes so 2x.  Any errors = bad ram.

Yes try out the New Profile, it may just be corruption in the old.

I would suggest allowing MS Updates and Defender to get out of your Surfshark VPN.

Hello, quick update:

- No BSODs thus far, both on main profile and the new profile.

- The TAP drivers for Surfshark were from previous installations/updates. I guess that program just doesn't clean up after itself.

- When I run a SFC /Scannow, it says there are corrupted files that were not able to be fixed. DISM check also reports corrupt files that it can't fix.

- Memtest86 is very confusing. I have it installed to a spare USB thumbdrive.

Dism needs to be run 1st, reboot and run SFC as it uses Drivers that Dism brings down from MS if any are corrupted. Try this way.

Use Geek or Revo Uninstallers as will get more, paid version gets even more and can monitor installs to get everything.

If Memtest finds any errors then the ram is bad, period.  Let it run max number of passes on 1 stick at a time 2x's for the fastest way to get things done and run it at night with Sleep/Hibernation turned off.

Oh ok, I'll run DISM first, reboot, and then run SFC.

Test 5 could do test 8 as well.  If nothing has changed from last I needed to use it.  Those would have been the most recommended at the time.  Not really paid much attention to it.
