As of 12:01 AM PST, the rollout of the New Xbox One Experience update has started worldwide for Xbox One owners. This whopping 1.1GB update brings a new interface powered by Windows 10 along with numerous UI enhancements and the long awaited Xbox 360 backwards compatibility.  Microsoft has stated that this update will be pushed out in stages to different regions throughout the day, but that it would be available worldwide by the end of the day.

For Xbox One users who use the Instant On feature, the update will be automatically be downloaded when the console goes into Connected Standby mode. For those who keep their Xbox One fully powered off, you can manually install the update by going to Settings, then System, and manually checking for an update. The new interface brings numerous user interface changes that are intended to make it easier to find friends to play with, information about your favorite games, and easier methods to perform common tasks. The most anticipated feature of The New Xbox One Experience is backwards compatibility with select Xbox 360 games.  This new feature allows you to play certain Xbox 360 games and even play with your friends if they are on a Xbox 360. In order to access your Xbox 360 games you will need to refresh your Game Collection and you will see all your digital Xbox 360 games that are supported under this new feature.  For disc based Xbox 360 games, simply insert them into the Xbox One and the backwards compatible version will be downloaded to your console.
