In a support document posted this month, NVIDIA has stated that they will no longer support 3D Vision in GeForce Game Ready drivers after the upcoming April 2019 Release 418 driver.
3D Vision is NVIDIA's is a gaming technology that utilizes software drivers and 3D glasses to play Direct3D games and watch TV in 3D.
NVIDIA has stated that the Release 418 driver coming in April 2019 will be the last driver to support NVIDIA 3D Vision. After the April release, NVIDIA will no longer include support for 3D Vision, but will continue supporting any critical driver issues that arise in Release 418 through April 2020.
"Following the posting of the final driver from Release 418 in April 2019, GeForce Game Ready Drivers will no longer support NVIDIA 3D Vision," stated NVIDIA's support document. "The NVIDIA support team will continue to address critical driver issues for 3D Vision in Release 418 through April, 2020. Those looking to utilize 3D Vision can remain on a Release 418 driver.
Our software that enables the use of 3D gaming with 3D TVs, 3DTV Play, is now included for free in Release 418. It is no longer available as a standalone download. Our 3D Vision Video Player will continue to be offered as a standalone download, for free, until the end of 2019."
3DTV Play, which allows 3D gaming on 3D TVs, is normally priced at $39.99, but will now be included for free in the Release 418 driver. It will not, though, be available as a standalone download going forward.
The 3D Vision Video Player will still be available as a download through the end of 2019.
For users who wish to continue using 3D Vision, you will need to stay on the Release 418 driver as support will be removed in later drivers.
NVIDIA discontinuing 3D Vision?
With this announcement, the release of 3DTV Play for free, and no future support for 3D Vision it appears that NVIDIA may be retiring 3D Vision in the near future.
For many, the writing has been on the wall ever since 3DVisionlive.com and it's 3D photo functionality was transferred to Phereo.com last August.
BleepingComputer has contacted NVIDIA with questions regarding 3D Vision and its future, but have not heard back at the time of this publication.

Go figure... And I had only just figured out how to play non-VR games in 3D on my Vive by abusing 3DVision...
