No, put maybe I screwed the cpu cooler too much which damaged it? I don’t recall dropping anything there. Also can you elaborate on how its damaged. To me it doesn’t look like they’re bent.

Look at the pins surrounding the spot in the zoomed in photo abd compare it to the center of the photo.

I have attached a copy of your picture. Are where the red arrows pointing to the areas of residue? Looks like there is a lot, there was a real mess.

You have to get a small amount of paint thinner, and try to clean up as much of it as you can. Any one of those could cause shorts. The residue on the flat surfaces maybe not so much, but around any electrical connectors it is critical.

Sometimes bent CPU pins can be straightened by taking apart a standard retractable pen and using the hollow tip where the point goes in & out. If it is small enough, it will fit down around the pin an straighten it. I did that once successfully.

For suggestions web-search straighten CPU bent pins and see what comes up.

The old credit card trick only worked on cpus with pins on them. With the way sockets are it won't do much good. The sockets has weird angled pins that help support the ball array on cpus

Yes it is residue, I forgot to wipe it off after cleaning it. I will try straightening the pins. Hopefully I can fix it if not Ill take it to a repair shop. Also realised the warranty doesnt cover physical damage so Im out of luck there
